Self-confidence is a genuine concept connected to well being, mental health, and a positive way of living. It includes both feeling and doing. Self-confidence is easy to spot and can be developed. Everyone wishes to be confident. However, very few know the effective ways to gain self-confidence. It takes effort and willingness to develop self-confidence. We start with appreciating what we have and then expand our reach to the goals we want to achieve.
What Is Self-Confidence?
Self-confidence is not a single idea but a process involving how we think about ourselves and others and how we function despite uncertainties and challenges. Self-confidence relates to our private and outer world around us.
Self-confidence is about trusting our abilities, capacities, and judgment. It is about appreciating ourselves and feeling worthy, irrespective of the imperfections or what others think of us.
Characteristics of a Self-Confident Person
Not everyone is born confident. Sometimes, developing self-confidence is difficult because of personal experiences or low self-esteem. Following are some traits of a confident person:

3 Ways to gain self-confidence
1. Review past Achievements
Think as I can do this, I have achieved so and so are some of the most effective compliments that boost confidence and give us courage to move ahead. Reviewing our accomplishments is an effective way to help us move forward with other goals. It provides us the courage to take risks and challenge ourselves to achieve our missions. People who look at their previous accomplishments gain confidence in achieving what they have planned.
2. Look for the Positive
Positivity plays a significant role in helping a person develop self-confidence. A simple compliment on our achievement goes a long way. Surrounding ourselves with positivity and positive people is essential, especially when developing self-confidence.
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. However, when developing self-confidence we must concentrate on our natural skills and characteristics to positively impact our minds. Moreover, list our attributes and strengths and focus on them instead of our weaknesses.
Furthermore, feel confident in who we are and gain confidence with positive self-talk. Such as practicing affirmations daily. Some affirmations to consider are:
I am worthy
I am confidence
I am taking actions toward my goals today
I am accomplishing my goals
I can achieve my goals
It helps boost confidence and gives the courage to achieve the impossible.
3. Set some goals
Developing self-confidence requires challenging ourselves. It is about stepping outside the comfort zone and trying something that may seem difficult. We do not have to start with something big. We can start with setting smaller goals and then move to something big and exciting as we build momentum. Start by baking or cooking something we have always thought of, or volunteer to say a brief greetings at our next family dinner. Once we achieve these smaller tasks, we can always plan for something exciting and bigger.
